This year’s county sports evening was held at a brand new location, Crewe Lifestyle Centre. It’s a great evening which always attracts young members and this year was no different. It was great to see lots of new members taking part and spectating.
There was a condensed program of sports this year due to the last minute change in venue and clubs battled it out in water polo, tag rugby and dodgeball. Teams of 6 took to the pool for water polo which is always entertaining. This year we also had the exciting new additions of the viewing area and a deep end! Well done to Nantwich YFC who came 1st.
Tag rugby came back by popular demand! This was well supported with lots of new young members braving the game and taking part. Thank you to Sam Chambers and Sam Wainwright for reffing and well done to Stretton YFC for coming 1st.
Finally over on the Dodgeball court there was plenty of excitement and a couple of close shaves, we hope any black eyes healed quickly! Well done to Congleton YFC who were victorious and came 1st.
Once all the points were added up it was Nantwich YFC who came out on top overall and took the Ray & Jill Brown Cup home this year with Stretton YFC in 2nd and Altrincham YFC a close 3rd. Congratulations to all members who took part and thank you to all of the refs and supporters who made it a great night.
