Meet the team!

Meet your NEW Deputy President 2024/25

George Dutton

Job Title: Full time relief milker and partner in the family farm.

I was born at Crown Inn Farm, Lower Peover. On the 20/07/1960 and have lived in Lower Peover ever since. I left school at the age of 16 with 8 0 levels to work in Barclays bank where I stayed for 2 years. At the age of 18 I came home to work on the family farm, which consisted of cows, sheep and potatoes but my real interest was the dairy herd where I graded up from commercial to pedigree status.

I joined Middlewich YFC with some fellow students taking part in most events mainly tug of war, junior quiz, cow rationing and many more. I was twice awarded the Roland Seddon Cup for Overall stockjudging at the Rally. My favourite competitions were junior quiz, and senior debate as they gave me the confidence to stand up and speak in public.

I met my wife Noreen through YFC and we married in August of 1986, we have had 3 children together Rosie, Katie and Thomas, it was when my daughter joined Knutsford Young Farmers that I renewed my interest again and my proudest memory would be when my daughter Katie became Cheshire Dairy Maid. I have been President of Knutsford YFC which I have thoroughly enjoyed and still help when asked to do so mainly on BBQ duties!

I have been honoured to be asked to judge the Dairy Queen competition twice and now the pleasure of joining the County Top Table. I know it will be a lot of late nights and hard work but great fun, and I am really looking forward to getting to know the rest of the top table and meeting as many young farmers as possible. It really is a privilege to be part of what I regard as one of the best youth movements around!
