Next up on meet the team we have…
Winnie Bullock 2024/25 Vice Chairlady
Job title: Officially unemployed, looking for the next opportunity, but unofficially Main Mon at Bullock’s Farms doing all that stuff around the farm that never gets done.
Active YF career: I joined Congleton Young Farmers 14 years ago (old I know!). I have competed in almost all competitions and held almost all roles in Congleton including junior representative, stock judging captain and treasurer. I was awarded overall member of the year for 2 consecutive years! In 2022/23 I was chairlady of Congleton and Cheshire Dairy Queen alongside my dream team Beth Candy and Rach Weaver!
Favourite YF Competition: I always struggle to pick my favourite, as each competition has their own selling point in my opinion. Junior quiz is a favourite, the build up more than the competition, creating a little family of younger members having a laugh and learning along the way.
Favourite YF memory: So many to choose from. I think the top one was when we won the moody bowl in my Chair and Dairy Queen year, with the love and support throughout the club making it an incredible achievement. It’s a moment in my lifetime I’ll cherish forever. But some of the less big moments hold important places in my heart too like when young members grow into big key players of the club and become as passionate about YFC as me or at the end of a float building session and everyone’s having a laugh as the sun sets.
What are you most look forward to this year?
I live and breathe young farmers and strongly believe it’s the best organisation out there. I can’t wait to spread the news of how great Cheshire YFC is, encourage everyone to have a go and have a good time along the way! Please don’t be shy, come and say hi to me.
