Players must be a paid up member of the Cheshire Young Farmers Club for whom they are playing and must be registered with the County Coordinator before midnight on Friday 26th January 2018.
All players who compete in the Federation Cup must be under 30 years of age on 1st June 2017.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
A member may only play for one Club over a season in all the Hockey Competitions organised by the Cheshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs.
Any Club failing to comply with the “Eligibility Rules” will be dealt with as follows:
Before the competition has been completed the Club will be disqualified from the competition and all Moody Bowl points will be deducted for the current year.
If the competition has been completed the Club holding the trophy will have it confiscated and for that year and it will be passed to the runners up. Any Moody Bowl points will be deducted for the current year.
COMPOSITION OF TEAMS
Teams to consist of 11 players, 5 men and 5 women outfield.
The goalkeeper may be either sex.
4 substitutes are allowed – 2 of each sex whom may only swap for a player of the same sex.
No more than 6 men or women may be on the pitch at one time.
Each team must have a recognisable strip. Away Team Captains should check if there is going to be a clash and must change where colours do clash.
The federation are organising all cup games. All the games will be played at Sir John Deane’s College. Umpires for the Federation Cup Competition will be provided for all games. The first game will be held at 10am and the second came will be held at 11:30am.
Matches will take place on the following dates and times:
1st Round –28th January – 1st Game – Macclesfield v Stretton (10am)
2nd Game – Middlewich v Congleton (11:30am)
2nd Round (Part 1) – 11th February- 1st Game – Sandbach v Macclesfield/Stretton (10am)
2nd Game – Knutsford v Beeston (11:30am)
2nd Round (Part 2) 11th March 1st Game – Malpas v Middlewich/Congleton (10am)
2nd Game – Altrincham V Nantwich (11:30am)
Semi Finals –25th March- 1st Game – Sandbach/Macclesfield/Stretton v Knutsford/Beeston (10am)
2nd Game – Malpas/Middlewich/Congleton v Altrincham/Nantwich (11:30am)
Final –15th April – TBC
All matches should be played on the date shown unless the pitch is unplayable; the County Hockey Secretary will make this decision and inform the clubs. If a team cancels for any reason other than aforementioned then the score for that game will be a 6-0 win awarded to the opposition and they will progress in the Cup competition. The team that cancels still has to pay their match fee, plus the match fee for the opposition, unless otherwise agreed with the County Treasurer.
The match must start within 15 minutes of the arranged start time even if a full team is not on the pitch, providing there are at least 7 players on the field from each team. If not, a 1-0 advantage will be given to the team ready to play and the remaining time divided into two equal halves.
All matches will be played under the British Rules of Hockey with the following adaptations:
If a draw occurs then 10 minutes each way of extra time will be played. If there is still a draw then 5 penalty strokes will be taken by each team (maximum of 3 men), followed by sudden death strokes if needed.
First strike from a short corner to be taken by a female only, however, males can receive the ball from the short corner but must not take the first strike. Anybody can score from the rebound.
POST MATCH PROCEEDURE
The team Captain is responsible for ensuring a team sheet is completed for the match and must send it to the County Hockey Secretary.
Both teams must fill in the team sheet including:
- Player details
- Indicating by player’s names goals scored and any cards received.
- Choosing a player of the match for the opposition and indicating this on the team sheet
- Captain’s signature
- Umpire’s signature
The Peter H Moody Cup will be presented at the Final of the Competition and will be held for one year. Souvenirs will go to each member and substitutes of the winning team and runners-up team.

Every Club is responsible for the conduct of its players and must take every precaution against threatening or abusive behaviour during or after the game.
If a player receives 2 yellow cards during a season they will be automatically suspended for the following match. If a player receives a red card they will automatically be suspended for the next two matches. All cards issued must be indicated on the team sheets.
PROTESTS AND APPEALS
All protests, claims and complaints must reach the County Hockey Secretary in writing within 7 days and will be heard and determined by the County Hockey Secretary and the County Top Table.
INJURY, LOSS AND INSURANCE
Sports players should generally insure themselves against loss of earnings due to injury. The organisers accept no liability for any injuries sustained by any competitor or person connected with these competitions or otherwise. The County Policy of Insurance is mainly for public liability and as such gives limited cash reward for injuries which result in loss of time at work.
